Winter is back in France, and hospitals are overwhelmed. At Hôpital Poincaré, a pipe burst, flooding the emergency ward; patients and caregivers have had to take up the floor occupied by the general medicine department, where Alyson and Hugo are junior doctors. Meanwhile, Chloé does everything she can to go back to practicing medicine again, in spite of her poor health. Neither has heard from Arben since his sudden, unexplained departure.
