Greece, 1936. Margot Santorini, a beautiful and wealthy young woman, is married to Rico, a penniless diplomat. Whatever passion they once felt for one another has gone cold and Margot is waiting for true love. One night, from her window, she witnesses a manhunt. She receives the fugitive into her bedroom. The man in question is Michel Boutros, a political militant who is hostile to the ruling party. She soon shares his idealism and this leads to romance. With the help of Rico and Raoul, a friend, she succeeds in hiding Michel before disappearing with him. In 1967, the daughter of Margot and Michel returns to the place where her parents fell in love.
