STAY WITH US is an autobiographical Comedy Directed by and starring acclaimed Actor/Comedian Gad Elmaleh.
The Hilarious, Heartwarming Film Will Be Released Theatrically in 2023, Followed by Release on all Leading Home Entertainment and Digital Platforms.
How would your family react if you returned home after a long absence with the goal of converting? Gad Elmaleh (HUGE IN FRANCE, AMERICAN DREAM) wanted to find out, so he directed, co-wrote and stars in STAY WITH US, a hilarious and heart-warming autobiographical comedy about acceptance, and the importance of family. This Official Selection of the Angoulême French Film Festival has been acquired by Film Movement for North American release; it will roll out to theaters in 2023, followed by a wide release on all leading home entertainment and digital platforms. The announcement was made by Michael Rosenberg, President of Film Movement and Chloe Marquet, SVP International Sales at STUDIOCANAL.
After three years of living the American dream, Elmaleh decides to return to France without daring to admit to his family that he did so to convert to Catholicism. When Gad’s parents, David and Régine, hear the news, it’s a nightmare: their son couldn’t have done worse! Determined to bring Gad back to his Jewishness, they will make his conversion a battlefield. Gad will however manage to make them understand that his sincere love for the Virgin Mary does not call into question who he is or the love he has for them.
