After 11 BAFTA nominations, including Best film, Best director and Best leading actor for Gary Oldman, TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY gets 3 nominations for the Oscars. Gary Oldman is nominated for Best actor in a leading role, but the film also runs for Best screenplay (Adaptation), by Bridget O'Connor & Peter Straughan, and Best original Score, by Alberto Iglesias.
Gary Oldman who was attending the TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY premiere in Berlin today said : “This afternoon in Berlin I have learned that I was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Actor. You may have heard this before, but it has never been truer than it is for me today, it is extremely humbling, gratifying, and delightful to have your work recognized by the Academy, and to join the celebrated ranks of previous nominees and colleagues.”
This film is a European production, entirely financed by STUDIOCANAL and produced by Working Title.
Moreover, MY WEEK WITH MARILYN, distributed by STUDIOCANAL in France, where it will be released on April 4th, gets 2 nominations : Best actress in a leading role for Michelle Williams and her performance as Marilyn, and best actor in a supporting role for Kenneth Branagh who plays Laurence Olivier.
